Il Était une Fois
From my abstract expressionist series. This one I created for its title which when I saw it in writing inspired this work. I wanted to create a whimsical feeling that the title Once upon a time made me feel. It was also about playing with the brush strokes in the buttery thick texture of this amazing oil paint which I have been in love with since I was a child. The texture, the fluidity, the smell of it, its luminous quality, it’s my life.
This is on 71 x 114 inch loose canvas so the buyer will have to have it stretched, most framers do this and have other options to choose from.
I have painted close to the edges so once stretched the edges will be painted.
