Asylum

This is one of an early series of paintings I did in the 70's & 80's, It has pretty much ended and I have a few left which were in storage and I've started restretching and restoring them, I thought it would be a drag but I'm actually loving it. These paintings were my escape from unhappy situations and they're showing me that I conquered a lot of stuff since then. They were all inspired by dreams that I had at that time. This one was actually scary, I was in a big wood house with wood slat floors, light was coming through the floor. I knew there was a killer in the basement, he was the toymaker. It was weird, so in the painting I put the straight jacket on him.
The edges are painted.
